Millie Gibson Leaves Coronation Street After Three Years
Millie Gibson has confirmed she is leaving her role as Kelly Neelan in Coronation Street after three years.
The 18-year-old actress has played the troubled teen since 2019 and has been involved in some of the soap's most dramatic storylines.
Gibson said she had "loved" her time on the show but felt it was the right time to move on.
"I have had such an amazing time playing Kelly," she said.
"I have learnt so much and made friends for life. I want to thank everyone who has watched and supported me over the years, but I feel it's time for me to move on to new challenges and adventures."
Gibson's departure will be a blow to Coronation Street, which has seen its ratings decline in recent years.
However, the soap's producers have said they are "excited" to see what she does next.
"Millie has been a wonderful asset to Coronation Street and we are very grateful for everything she has brought to the role of Kelly," said producer Iain MacLeod.
"We wish her all the best for the future and look forward to seeing what she does next."
